WORK PLAN
OCTOBER (last week)
NOVEMBER
JANUARY
- Planning the task distribution of partners (teachers) in a meeting
- Introduction of schools and students in an initial meeting
NOVEMBER
- Getting a social media account for the Project
- Preparation in each class:
- Logo creations for the project. Then, questionnaires and selection of the final logo from each school. E-safety rules and tips.
- Preparation of our eTwinning school board
- Interactive activity of the month: This is my country. At least in two sessions, pupils are going to chat (2 vs. 2) via Twinspace with classmates from the other school to create a Google Presentations where they will make a display with pictures and cultural facts from their colleagues' school and country. (Asking and answering in English, simple structures). This could be done in two or three weeks (counting on their continuity at home when needed with the cloud).
- Interactive activity of the month: Traditional pen pals. In our school we should work on informal letters (I have a technique with boxes which I will share with you, you may find it useful). Then, we will have a meeting to arrange this activity. It could be two letters, one formal and other informal (so we will be working the two types) and ending with a Christmas card.
- We could share in the Twinspace the way we live at the end of the year, treating Christmas as another tradition, relevant in different countries but not so in others. Thus, we can title it A NEW YEAR IS COMING, sharing traditional clothing and other customs we would like to present to the rest of the participants. We could include our hopes and desires for the forthcoming year. It could be done as a collage of pictures and text. We will use our best wishes as a way of introducing our pupils to the Sustainable Development Goals, the way of achieving better conditions for our (European and not so) lives.
JANUARY
- Online meeting for teachers welcoming the new year and as a control session, discussing how it is going with the project.
- Each school can work on adjectives and structures related to books and films (horror, science fiction, I love musical movies, My sister doesn’t like drama books, etc.). Then, there will be a selection of books and films to be uploaded to the Twinspace in a list.
- Interactive activity of the month:European films database. We should create a database of traditional films with the main information, in the shape of cards (title, type, synopsis, main characters). This could be done by suggesting a couple of movies to each other participant. Then, each group will work on the different stories from other countries, filling in a card template and uploading them in a Jamboard (collaborative app, at the end there will be a Spanish Jamboard for pupils from Finland, France, Turkey, Romania etc. for them to upload their works on those Spanish films; another one for Romanian stories, other one to Turkish movies and so on). These both works are related to the following sustainable development goals: Quality education (SDG 4), Reduced inequalities (SDG 10), Gender equality (SDG 5).
- This month we will work on a region and country habitat and the animals living around, from one of the countries involved in the project. In this way, we can use the activity to point out the slight differences with our animals and habitats, working on how to preserve them. We will unite it with the following sustainable development goals: Clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), Climate action (SDG 13), Life below water (SDG 14), Life on land (SDG 15). So, we can make infographics with BeFunky and upload some examples of our work.
- Interactive activity of the month: Pupils will join the Twinspace chat to get some information about other cultures’ traditional clothing and to give other pupils so. This month is the celebration of carnival in many parts of the world so we could make a showcase in an online meeting of our pupils dressed with the traditional clothing from our partners’ culture. This is related with the following sustainable development goals: Reduced inequalities (SDG 10), Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), Decent work and economic growth (SDG 8).
- EuroWomen. For the International Womens’ Day we will make a collage, made out of our pupils’ moms. So, they have to upload or bring a picture of their mom. It will be shared in the Twinspace. Related to the following sustainable development goals: Quality education (SDG 4), Gender equality (SDG 5), Reduced inequalities (SDG 10).
- Interactive activity of the month:The kitchen is for everyone. Pupils will write emails to exchange information with each other about traditional recipes. They will try to reproduce them at home, making short videos, sending them to their partners. We will upload a few as an example but we will make an online meeting where each school will show at least one of the dishes from other schools’ traditions. It could be great to talk about the following sustainable development goals during the activities: No poverty (SDG 1), Zero hunger (SDG 2), Good health and well-being (SDG 3), and Gender equality (SDG 5), Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) as well.
- Online meeting to see how it is going and the forthcoming activities.
- Making of a Reader’s Digest Magazine for our partners, suggesting books from our culture, especially those related to peace, justice and other moral stories, giving some brief ideas about each book. We can use Canva for our work. We should relate this activity with the following sustainable development goals: Quality education (SDG 4), Reduced inequalities (SDG 10), Peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG 16).
- Interactive activity of the month:Bookflix. Online general meeting where pupils will select the stories they are going to represent, making short videos as book trailers. Those videos will be uploaded and there will be a votation to select one from each school. We could relate this to Industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9) and Peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG 16).
- Online meeting to finish up the project. At the end, we will make an internal evaluation.
- Interactive activity of the month:My eTwinning memoirs. We will make a diary of the project with our pupils, giving them a questionnaire to be filled by asking other kids from the schools involved in a couple of interactive sessions in the Twinspace chat.
- Celebration in our schools of an eTwinning party, revising the work done, having a look at the products and making a reflection on the way we joined together this project to reach our goals. That could be related, at the end, with Partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).
- List of ideas to cope with the problems related to the sustainable development goals, at least one per each. Upload this sort of Decalogue to the Twinspace.
